Hey Fam!

No longer just a school uniform staple, the pleated skirt is currently the biggest fashion trend. Featured on runways for Christian Dior and other fashion events, the tightly lined pleats, usually in chiffon or polyester skirt is feminine and floaty, giving a touch of breezy feminine charm to any outfit. Think less ‘back to school’ and more retro 1950s elegance, perfect throwback lol, this season’s skirt comes in a variety of colors and textures, from subtle beige and neutral colors that are perfect for office wear, to scene-stealing shimmering and metallic fabrics. With its cinched waist, it flatters all figures, creating a ladylike silhouette. Light and airy, the trend can be paired with nearly anything in your closet and that’s why it came back with a bang!

Well, I have had this pretty colored chiffon pleated skirt in my wardrobe for more than two years now and funny enough, I have never worn it, never! Weird right? That’s because I have always been looking for a perfect chance to slay it, lol, up until now when I saw the trend everywhere! I decided to bring it out to play and since my office allows creative but formal outfits, this is how I styled it. Simple black pilot shirt to contrast the color of the skirt and added a gold glittering belt to the cinched waist and a chained necklace as accessories. I went minimalist styling on this one since I didn’t want the attention off the skirt.

For chic toppers, you can add a blazer of biker jacket that’ll brush against your top and skirt. You can also style your pleated skirt by wearing a fancy chic t-shirt and some cute sneakers. A turtle-neck top would also go with this number.

I hope you get to try and slay the trend away! Xoxo

Nice blog! Is your theme custom made or did you download it from somewhere? A design like yours with a few simple adjustements would really make my blog shine. Please let me know where you got your design. Kudos
