Hey Fam, I’m back. With my shorts again, lol. Told you these pieces are bae. I have been in absentia for two weeks but here I am! You will have to forgive me for my hiatus every now and then because sometimes life happens. Sometimes you just don’t have the will to write, sometimes you just want to sit and do nothing. That was me last two weeks. I was drained and basically empty. *sigh* Anyway, we have to keep on keeping on, don’t we?
This look today was a random pick. Typically most of my outfits usually are. I have been having these linen pair of shorts for 3yrs now, lying in my closet and never been worn! Reason? None! Maybe because I have never found a perfect top to pair it with (lame excuse), or maybe because I have never found a perfect time to rock it (laaame). I just don’t know the reason but here we are!
Business casual is a style that is less formal than traditional business wear, but is still intended to give a professional and businesslike impression. A business casual dress code can be difficult to get just right. Go too far on the business side, and you could end up looking overdressed and uncomfortable. But veer too far into casual territory, and you could give the impression that you’re not taking your job seriously. It may be tricky, but a business casual dress code allows for a lot of creative freedom when it comes to getting dressed for work, and you can often build a work wardrobe using items you already have in your closet.
This style is usually my go to look when I’m going to work since I don’t have a typical 8-5 job. Our office allows you to dress in anything decent and formal so it’s a good avenue for me to play around with different styles. With this heat in Mombasa despite the rains, which are going away, linen are our type of clothing, because the heat here is no joke!
This is a look I wore recently to a formal meeting and I was happy with the comfort it offered me. The shorts were not too short for the meeting, and since mostly people don’t go for shorts when going formal, I decided to pair it up with a pilot shirt to make the look decent and business casual. I love the drawstrings on the shorts and the pleat-detail at the front. Sandal heels because they look less formal and classy too. I have never been into super business attire so I always try to dress it down when I’m attending one, and I think I nailed this one!
Until next post, XOXO! ♥
