Hey Fam! The denim on denim trend, also otherwise known as the double denim trend, is a great look to sport if you’re looking for something that’s casual, easy and laid back without losing the chic factor in your outfit. It’s a proven favorite for many fashionistas around the globe and it’s classically versatile which means, you can wear it in more ways than one and effortlessly pull it off every single time.

One really easy way to make sure that you denim on denim outfit doesn’t end up looking tacky, monotonous and boring is to make sure that you wear both top and bottom pieces a shade or two apart. One piece should be lighter or darker than the other, especially when you’re wearing plain double denims. Just because you’re meant to do denim on denim doesn’t mean you can’t wear anything else along with it. I love me some denim, so I try to create different looks with different shades like how I did on this outfit. I paired my non-blue neutral denim top that obviously provides a greater contrast to the blue denim bottoms. You can never go wrong with denim if styled perfectly. I simply added my denim maxi dress, see how I styled it here, as a trenchcoat to complete the look. This is an easy styling look that would function well during cold days.

The denim on denim, or pairing a denim item with other denim pieces intentionally is an ever growing trend that looks chic and laid-back and has been around for quite a while now and if you haven’t already tried it, you’re missing out. It’s a very cool look that’s perfectly wearable all year long, so go ahead and try it! Catch you here next Monday, Xoxo.

Top, Bottom: Thrifted    Trench: Store Bought.
